Located in the lush, green Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Nambour has many places to explore. If you drove through town, a quick, first impression may be quite deceptive as Nambour is not readily known for its natural beauty. We say… take another look. With Nambour the best part is discovering it; the hills & valleys, the sweeping panoramic vistas where green bushland meets blue ocean in the distance, the cool, tranquil waterfalls & creeks, the native wildlife that still abounds – all this & more can be found on bushwalks throughout this interesting town. In the heart of Nambour you’ll find Petrie Park with footbridges spanning Petrie Creek. Be alert, you might see a water dragon, terrapin or even a platypus! (This is a great place to park if you are towing a caravan) Also in the CBD is Quota Park, a haven for families with THE best adventure playground on the Sunshine Coast. Petrie Park, Quota Park & Koala Park are all ideal for picnics, BBQ, bushwalking or bike rides. Near the Nambour Hospital is Cilento Park, a lovely tranquil spot with a short stroll through bushland opening out to a waterfall. (At it’s best just after the rain)

Heading west out of town via Mapleton Road, on your way up the range, make sure you stop off at Kanyana Park Lookout to gaze at the panoramic vista of Nambour in the valley with the ocean as backdrop. What a view! It’s only a short scenic drive up the Blackall Range where you can enjoy the village atmosphere in the hinterland towns of Mapleton, Montville & Maleny, or turn off at Mapleton, see the Mapleton Falls, then venture further west along the Obi-Obi Rd to the picturesque hamlet of Kenilworth.

If you’re into sun, sand & surf, from Nambour it’s easy to cruise across to Maroochydore & Mooloolaba on the Coast for a day at the beach. Nambour is very central to everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
