Rhythm Culture presents Drum Sing Dance workshops.  These workshops are for children of all ages, families and lovers of rhythm! There will be jumping, dancing, moving, shaking and of course drumming!

Our interactive and engaging Drum Sing Dance workshops are full with instruments, song, and movement. Everyone will play lots of different percussion, including shakers, bells, and other surprises. There will be drums for everyone and traditional songs and chants to bring the music to life. Learn some African dance moves and make up some of your own to live drumming and a big bass drum to help you get your groove on!

A flamboyant & festive ballet, Don Quixote was first performed in Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre in 1869. Since then it has been performed all over the world by Russian and international ballet companies.
The Imperial Russian Ballet Company will bring this flamboyant and festive ballet to Australia & New Zealand in 2014.
The Imperial Russian Ballet Company was formed in 1994 by the Bolshoi Theatre soloist, Gediminas Taranda. They have staged classic masterpieces in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and the Mossovet Theatre. The home venue for the troupe when they perform in Moscow is now the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre.

The 2014 Dragon Boat national titles will be held at Lake Kawana for the second time since 2009. This event will see 1000 paddlers from accross the nation compete over five days of competition from Juniors through to Masters. During the event Lake Kawana will play host to both the International Dragon Boat Federation as well as the NZ Dragon Boat Association and is the world's fastest growing team water sport in the world. The event will run from the Tuesday through to the Sunday so we encourage everyone to come down and see what's on.

Being held Easter Weekend 2014 - 18-21 Apr
A long standing surfing contest for boardriders in memory of Caloundra surfing legends Pa & Ma Bendall. Organised by the Wind N Sea Board Riders club this contest has been running for 40 years.
Since its inception the contest has been held for 40 consecutive years (8 as the Ma & Pa Bendall) and has been a springboard for many young surfers moving into the professional ranks with past winners including Australian and World champions and legends. It has also made a significant contribution to the community fabric of Caloundra and helped raise the profile of the region through international publicity created by the contest.

Divisions: Open Men, Masters, Senior Men, Junior (U18), Women, Cadet (U16), Open Kneeboard. Four-man heats with 50% progression.

The Caloundra Surf Festival celebrates the rich surfing culture on the Sunshine Coast. From a first class surf competition and expression sessions to surf art, photographic and historical displays. From famous surf identities, guest speakers and demonstrations to astonishing surf movies and music - there is something for everyone.

Come find the Sunshine Coast Concert Band this ANZAC day, nestled in the leafy green of the beautiful Buderim Mountain School Forest. You’ll be immersed in the spirit of the ANZAC as war time favourites are played by the band.

Alan Winter and Bev Gourlay provide stirring vocals while Tessaley Graham on trumpet, plays the Last Post and Rouse that are not to be missed.  Be moved while the wreaths are laid as the Sunshine Coast concert band plays music to honour our ANZAC heroes.  A wonderful ANZAC day experience for the whole family that is second to none.

Conductor Ken Chadwick has a special connection to the area as seven generations of his family beginning with his Great Grandmother, through to his Great Grand Daughter have stood on the site of the ANZAC Day service. Come be part of this great tradition and honour our proud service men and women. An experience to remember.
