SURF, SAND & FUN IN THE SUN!
BEACHES
Nambour is only 20 mins drive from the Sunshine Coast’s world famous beaches.
It’s not far to travel to have a swim, walk on the beach or picnic with family & friends.
Below is a guide to the closest Sunshine Coast beaches, all with easy access from Nambour. The best way to enjoy our beaches safely is to always swim in patrolled areas & when unsure about swimming conditions, ask
a lifesaver or lifeguard. This is especially important for our international visitors, not familiar with our beaches.
Play it safe: “ALWAYS SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS”

BEACHES CLOSE TO NAMBOUR
MOOLOOLABA (Patrolled)
This is one of the busiest beaches, very popular with swimmers, paddlers & boogie boarders. The beach is set in a sweeping bay, which is perfect for that sunset stroll. The Mooloolaba
Surf Club overlooks the beach, there’s a caravan park right next door & across the road you’ll find a myriad of luxury accommodation, cafes, restaurants & specialty shops, a playground for the kids, viewing platform,
& plenty of grassy areas to relax with a picnic or use the BBQ facilities provided. It’s the ultimate beach experience. Our visitors just LOVE Mooloolaba!

ALEXANDRA HEADLAND (Patrolled)
This beach is very safe for inexperienced swimmers & children in close to shore & popular with surfers out further. Again, lots of accommodation choices, shops & facilities nearby including a 10-pin
Bowling Alley, the Alex Surf Club & an awesome skatebowl & skate ramps to keep those teens happy for hours. Lots of parks & gardens for lovely walks over the Headland towards Mooloolaba or flat, easy walking to Maroochydore.
BBQ’s & plenty of shady shelters, tables & seating for outdoor eating overlooking the ocean. What more could you ask for?

MAROOCHYDORE (Patrolled)
Very popular with locals & holidaymakers. This is an open beach where rips are common, so only swim between the flags. Avoid the rivermouth area for swimming, but it’s great for
walks, fishing, surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing & jetskis! Maroochy Surf Club overlooks the beach, accommodation, cafes, restaurants & shops are a short stroll across the road. Cotton Tree is a great little place to explore
with a street market each Sunday & a caravan park right on the beach.

BEACHES JUST NORTH OF NAMBOUR
NORTH SHORE MUDJIMBA & MARCOOLA (Patrolled)
Popular with residents & tourists. Open beach so care should be taken when swimming. Fantastic beach for long walks & dog off-leash beach area for your furry pals to run off some
energy!

|
|
YAROOMBA
Open beach with solid surf. Can be prone to rips so be very careful. Best to just walk, work on your tan or build sandcastles & play in the sand.

COOLUM (Patrolled)
One of the most popular beaches on the Coast. There’s a great break for surfers & families enjoy the variety of quality facilities close by. A great Surf Club overlooks the beach,
a brilliant caravan park is situated right on the beach & a bustling market flourishes here every Friday night during summer. Accommodation, cafes, restaurants & shops are right across the road. This is truly laidback. They
don’t call Coolum “Cool” for nothing!
