Dog Friendly Parks & Beaches in & around Nambour

Holly’s Favourite Local Hangouts
around Nambour

Holly's loves Nambour's Dog Parks!

My favourite dog friendly park in Nambour where I can be free & be me, run, play, chase the ball, walk along, socialise & meet other dogs like myself,  is Petrie Park right in town, in Price St Nambour. There’s plenty of room & the humans are pretty friendly, usually stopping to give me a pat or have a chat with my parents.
The drive down & back is really good too!

I also like visiting Mudjimba Beach at North Shore because I can run for miles. I get really tuckered out & I sleep really well after a visit to the beach.

Temporary Dog Boarders needed!

Seeing Eye Dogs Australia urgently needs Temporary Carers in your area to board teenage puppies who are ready to graduate.

Can they move in with you for their final six months of training?  We’ll collect them for school and drop them home after class.  Your after school caring will someday help give an Australian who is blind independence for life.

Seeing Eye Dogs Australia are seeking Temporary Boarders for their special dogs who are about to commence their final six months of intensive training to qualify as a Seeing Eye Dog.

We provide you with all the necessities like food, bed, registration, leads and toys and all we ask is that you house and love this ‘super hero’ of the future.  Our trainers will collect your new family friend Monday through Friday for training.  Of course, we will fit in with your schedule.

These very special animals have been cared for, for the first 12 months of their life, by our volunteer Puppy Carers who have, under the watchful eye of our training staff, taught these dogs obedience and socialised them to the community.  So you see, your new family friend comes partly trained and ready for the final stage before qualifying.

It’s hard work, which is why they need loving homes to relax in on weeknights & weekends.

So if you are retired, work from home or have a young family and feel you could help us, we’d love to hear from you

To find out more, please call
1300 84 74 66
and ask for the Queensland instructor.

Facts about
Temporary Caring

Carers board year-old puppies that are starting their final six months of intensive training to qualify as Seeing Eye Dogs.

These well-behaved puppies have lived with Puppy Carers since they were eight weeks old, so they know basic obedience commands and have been well socialised.

Your puppy is picked up each morning for training and returned to your home later in the afternoon. They train on weekdays and can relax with you on weekends.

All costs associated with caring for a puppy are covered, which means you don’t have to pay for its food, bowl, bed, toys, registration, collar, lead and vet costs.

We welcome Temporary carers from all backgrounds and households, including those with other pets and young children.

If you would like to apply to become a volunteer Temporary Carer call
1300 84 74 66
and ask for the Queensland instructor.
