The museum will be open every day during the following week so come along & view this interesting centennial display of our communication evolution.
To mark the centenary of the first telephone in Nambour (and indeed what is now known as the Sunshine Coast) in October 1908, the Nambour Museum will be presenting a special display which focuses on the technology, the equipment, the people who worked for the company and the customers. Perhaps more than most, the telecommunications business has always formed an integral part of personal and business life and therefore is closely akin to the changes in local communities. Collection and preservation of those memories for future generations will be one focus of the centenary celebrations. From antiquities to androids we’ve come a long way in 100 years!
