ACTIVITIES ON THE WATER
Every weekend, the waterways of the Sunshine Coast become home to hundreds of yachts & fishing boats, luxury cruisers, pontoon boats, tinnys
& watercraft of all shapes & sizes. If you love spending your leisure time by the ocean you’ll never want to leave. No wonder the locals love this lifestyle. Within 20 minutes of Nambour in any direction, you have access
to all this!

FISHING CLOSE TO NAMBOUR
Locals fish in their favourite spots & amateurs enjoy the fresh air & relaxation on the water. Even without a boat, there’s all sorts of great fishing spots to be found. If you enjoy rock fishing try
Point Cartwright, Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore, or along the Spit at Mooloolaba Bar. Take care & be fully aware of the tide & swell conditions. More sedately, you can fish along the edge of the Maroochy River, from Cotton
Tree continuing along Bradman Avenue (where you can put your boat in if you have one).
Try your luck on the walking bridge across the river to Chambers Island, a great little spot for fishing & swimming. Fish off the banks, or hire a tinny & take to the river. For
the more adventurous, charter operators offer day & overnight trips offshore fishing along the reefs where marlin are a favourite for sport fishing.

SAILING & BOATING
A major leisure activity is sailing, as Mooloolaba is one of the safest harbours in Australia. The Mooloolaba Yacht Club is home to some of the nation’s major sailing events. Every Wednesday afternoon there
are casual sailing events from the clubhouse & in the bay at Mooloolaba catamarans are also for hire. These are fun & simple to sail in these protected waters.
The Sunshine Coast is a boat lover’s paradise with a variety of prime real estate through Kawana, Minyama, Mooloolaba & Maroochydore boasting deep water frontage so you can
step out your door & take off from your own jetty. Heaven!
